BOB'S LAST DAY
Bob has finished his work for us (until we start the next phase)and is moving on to a new job in Bridgwater so good luck Bob hope it all works out OK. We know that he will have to acclimatize to cold conditions, after spending the last few weeks working in an underfloor heated house.
Thank you to Tim as well who has been Bob's right hand man.
We are frantically emptying the containers which go back to Dainton on Monday.

HIGH WINDS
Last night the shed door came off its hinges so Bob has had to board it up to stop it happening again. Rich is here this evening finishing off the electrics we almost have lights in every room. Most of the sockets are now connected and we just have to install the thermostats.
Bob is hanging the doors tomorrow and lining the spare bedroom. He has insulated the roof to the liftpit and generally made sure everything is now sealed.
I have to say tht the underfloor heating is fabulous we have not felt the cold at all in this dreadful weather. Once we have the thermostats we can regulate the temperature in the bedrooms and up it in the wet room.

HI-FI WIRED UP
After two years in storage the hi-fi was brought into the house and switched on and it works perfectly. Now we have well and truly moved in.
The weather has been atrocious with no end in sight to the high wnds and torrential rain. We moved in just in time.
Mike has alo plumbed in the shower so we have everthing we need now. Boxes from storage are being brought over and put in the pantry for now to be unpacked when time permits. Sobie has enjoyed setting up her wii.

FIRST MEAL COOKED IN THE HOUSE!
Apart from everything fusing I managed to cook a meal this evening on a lovely Siemens induction hob, which after the tiny gas cooker in the van is bliss. It is a shame the oven did not want to stay on at the same time, but Mike managed to isolate something on the fuse board and we got it all going in the end. We will get the electrician to check it out in the morning.
The wet room looks like Santa's Grotto and will be fabulous. All the floors have now been resin sealed and the wet room has two more coats to go then it can be fitted out.
Television will be moved over tomorrow and the office on Friday then all that we need to do is start unpacking boxes.

FRIDAY THE THIRTEENTH
With predicted high winds today was the day we got the beds out of storage and into the house. We still have floors to be sealed but are able to use the bedrooms and the living area. When the rest is done we will be able to get everything out of the containers. I am particularly looking forward to setting up the kitchen and finding all my pots and pans again. It has been a frantic day with plumbers and electricians falling over each other but hopefully all will be sorted in the end.

OCTOBER REVIEW
A great month. Our HOME is now airtight, watertight and warm.
All the stud walls are in and the heat is on.
The girls are now camped in there almost full-time - even Sobie has started working in there - doing the insulation - very well it has to be said...
Fun and games co-ordinating and meeting multiple demands but everyone is pulling in the same direction. Again hats off to Bob - not ony for his attention to detail but also a new side to him - tolerance! He'll be wearing one of Maff's dresses next!
Tim finished this week - thanks for all your help Tim - we will get you back again for the next phase.
A quick thank you to some new partners:
Rich Crane (RJ CRANE) has started the electrics. Only trays in so far but looking just as good as the plumbing for visual effect. See suppliers.
Terry MacLeod + Envira-Mech have provided the Mitsubishi air-source-heat pump and thermal store plus all the install and they have done a fantastic job.
Rachel at CPD for doing us a great deal with plasterboard and plastering accessories and an excellent, customer focussed service. There's a lot more to come Rachel. Please send us a logo and we'll get you on our suppliers list.
Lynsey at CEF - City Electrical Factors. Great prices and service. Again highly customer focussed and witty with it. We will stick with CEF for the rest of the project. See suppliers.
Darryl at Protective Coatings. Superb service - very tuned in to what we are trying to achieve and how to achieve it - architecturally and financially. See suppliers.
Rachel at Faucet. Amazing prices for plumbing kit and great advice.
Adrain at Direct Plumbing and Heating. Old friend and supplier from the refurb of our last house. Still beating competition for good prices. See suppliers.
Ian, Andy and Trevor from Crown Plumbing. Rare young artisans and great support from Trevor.

BEDROOM STUDWORK = some plumbing challenges
More excitement as the rooms start to take shape. It still amazes us how much mental effort is needed to set everything out properly to make sure the plasterboard and doors all meet our standards and disability regs.
Again, thanks to Bob the studwork is not only of the highest standard but also not leaving us with problems when we do the shadow gaps on the plasterboard.
Fun and games with plumbing for shower. No-one seems to make the drains we need so we've had to invent our own.

THINKING OF BOB DAY
Hope you're OK Bob

WINDOWS FINISHED
That's it! All the windows are in. Today we put in the 400+ kilo windows and the front door - with the aid of a special crane and suction/sucker system.
Bob slipped on the steps and smash his nose, ribs, wrist and shins - nasty - it could have been much worse. So we'll have to try and survive without him for a couple of days.
Doors need a bit of tweaking but we're just about there.
Just the stud walls, heating, electrics and plumbing to go.
Thinking of Joan day.

SCAFFOLD DOWN
First floor windows exposed - not looking their best until garage roof goes on but that won't be for a long time yet.
Screed almost dry enough to walk on. Despite being anhydrite and more resistant to cracking than sand and cement, it has cracked. Apparently nothing to worry about.
Garage stud wall going up in prep for windows and front door going in Monday.
Toilet re-plumbed in under stairs.
